The following documents assist us to plan for the future, monitor the work we are doing and respond to the changing needs of the Whanganui region.

Whanganui District Health Board Statement of Performance Expectations (PDF 454KB) 

The Statement of Performance Expectations is a requirement of the Crown Entities Act 2004 as amended by the Crown Entities amendment Act 2013 and sets the annual performance expectations of Whanganui District Health Board. The Statement of Performance Expectations is an integral part of the DHB Annual Plan, however, in order to meet the requirements of Section 149(L) of the Crown Entities Act 2004 we are pleased to present the following information which forms the Statement of Performance Expectations.

WDHB's position on alcohol and alcohol-related harm. This document uses evidence and policies gathered locally, nationally and internationally to show where we stand on alcohol minimisation in our community and how we will help reduce it through our health services and promotion.

Central Region Equity Framework August 2019 (451KB)

The Central Region Equity Framework has been developed by the Central Region and was endorsed by the Central Region Chief Executives in April 2019. The Central Region is a combination of MidCentral DHB, Hawke’s Bay DHB, Whanganui DHB, Wairarapa DHB, Hutt Valley DHB and Capital and Coast DHB.

The Statement of Intent has been prepared in accordance with Part 4 of the Crown Entities Act 2004. It covers the period 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2022 and provides an overview of our strategic intentions to show how we fulfil our statutory obligations over the next three years.

Pro Equity Check-Up 2018 (PDF 568KB)

As part of our commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of our Māori whānau /families achieving equity for Maori is the primary and most urgent equity challenge for us.A pro-equity check –up (audit) was conducted August – December 2018 to assess how well we are embedding a pro-equity approach into our work. The check– up is provides a clear-eyed view on where we are at as well as practical advice on where to focus our efforts for the most sustained impact.
